ISURF 2009:

The ISURF program is a 10-week cross-disciplinary summer immersion experience for students with an interest in stem cell research and a background in the physical, life, or engineering sciences. The ISURF program will run in partnership with the Rutgers RISE summer program and gives students the opportunity to interact with faculty and students from various scientific backgrounds.

Each student will have a faculty mentor whose lab they will work in and will be paired with a near-peer mentor, a current IGERT fellow, whose research and educational background are similar to theirs.ISURF students will focus the majority of their time on hands-on lab work, but will also participate in the IGERT monthly Research Interchange Forums (IRIF), programs set-up for students through RISE, a research poster session, and an end of summer research symposium.
